Operations and maintenance engineer
Our client is world-leading, fully integrated agriculture network connecting growers with domestic and international consumers with grains, oilseeds, rice, cotton, sugar and biofuels and other agricultural products.
Their New Zealand operation, based in Te Awamutu and Te Puke largely focuses on maize drying and storage. The team is highly skilled and knowledgeable at what they do, working together all year round to “make things happen”.
They are currently looking for an operations and maintenance engineer who will be responsible for overseeing all facets of plant operations at the Te Awamutu site. This includes enacting site operational plans as per the direction of the Maize Manager, managing a maintenance programme; contractor management, inductions and permits; and undertaking dryer, mill and storage operational functions. While the role is predominantly located at the Te Awamutu site, the successful applicant will also be responsible for maintenance and safety activities at the Te Puke site.
The preferred candidate will have demonstrated 3 to 5 years of maintenance management and operational management. As the majority of maintenance is in-house you will be able to bring your hands-on engineering skills to the table.
In addition you will offer:
- Proven experience and skills in plant maintenance
- Strong leadership and relationship management skills
- Sound decision making and problem solving skills
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment, quality control processes and procedures
- Experienced in health, safety and environment management
Applicants must be able to work in confined spaces and at heights. A qualification in engineering, welding and a forklift licence will be well-regarded.
