Property Assistant & Trainee Property Manager

Parental leave cover until June 2019

The Colliers International (Hamilton) team is dynamic and focused on delivering outstanding results to their clients.  An opportunity has arisen for an energetic, highly organised person looking for a career in property management. We are looking for a person to cover two periods of parental leave.  The first will be until approximately July 2018, and will include providing support to a team of Property Managers.  Responsibilities will include:


  • Coordinating maintenance
  • Arranging property inspections
  • Dealing with tenant enquiries
  • Liaising with contractors
  • Overseeing invoices / recharges
  • Receipting rent and bond

At the conclusion of this period of cover you will move into covering a further one year period of parental leave, as a Trainee Property Manager.  In this position you will deal with a variety of people including building owners, tenants, property managers, trades contractors and insurers.  Responsibilities will be varied and will include:


  • Selection of tenants / dealing with tenant enquiries
  • Conducting property inspections
  • General correspondence with owners and contractors
  • Maintaining effective records and databases
  • Ensuring all maintenance spend is approved

This is a great opportunity for someone wanting to progress to a property management role – both positions will give you good exposure to all aspects of property management. Critical to your success are broad and well developed skills in communication and administration, outstanding time management and organisational skills, and the ability to work effectively under pressure.  You will have a desire to be part of a fast paced team of individuals who work autonomously whilst providing support for each other.
