Secretary / Executive Assistant

The Waikato Farmers Trust provides charitable funding and sponsorship to Waikato’s rural communities. They have a passion for agriculture, education and improving the well-being and livelihood of people living in the Waikato region.

A fabulous opportunity for the right person who is looking for flexibility and who enjoys working from home or office (an office is provided within the organisation). The Board meets monthly with committee meetings at various frequencies.  Minute taking is a part of the role.

An extraordinarily varied role covering financial, executive support, charitable funding, conference facility management and general administration.  We envisage for the next 12 to 24 months there will be a greater requirement in hours (approximately 20/week) as the Trust is considering a number of commercial property focussed initiatives. The role currently is around 10 hours per week.

This role requires very good general PA and financial skills such as Accounts Payable, Receivable, managing bank accounts, liaising with accountant, GST, reconciling non-property accounts, updating fixed asset register and liaising with the bank regarding accounts, loans and trust details. Being executive support, you will be organising and co-ordinating meetings, taking minutes, generating work schedules and calendars.

This is a sole role where you will ensure the Trust is run to best practice, so you will have full responsibility for the smooth running of the organisation.
