Office Administrator – Based in the CBD

• Designated Free Onsite Car Park provided
• Part time 25 – 30 hours per week
• 6 weeks Annual Leave
• Days and start/finish times to be negotiated with the successful candidate

Our client provides advice and support for trade union members and is the national and regional office for several large Aotearoa New Zealand trade unions. The goal of the client is to improve the lives of working people and their families.

An exciting opportunity has presented itself for a self-starter who enjoys working in a sole charge capacity and who likes variety in their day-to-day work.

Our client will be looking for a candidate with great communication and inter-personal skills, technology skills for troubleshooting minor IT issues, an ability to use Microsoft Excel with basic formulas, ability to use and operate two computer screens, and the ability to create positive working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will also need the ability to think on their feet and work independently, but also liaise with a wider administrative team.

This role is front facing – although not a busy reception area, you will be responsible for welcoming and directing callers and visitors.

You will also be responsible for liaising with contractors, updating and maintaining building repairs and maintenance and Health and Safety records, organising quotes from contractors where necessary, chairing the quarterly communal Health & Safey committee meetings, and booking internal meeting rooms. There will also be support duties for the wider administrative team, so back up duties will include but not be limited to working on projects with other staff located at the client’s premises, assisting with annual conference material, collating membership packs, and assisting with a twice-yearly Education Grant Application process.

If you have experience working to deadlines, and are resilient under pressure, self-managing and motivated, this busy role would be ideal to start a new challenge and work environment.

This is a fantastic opportunity to display all your skills.
